Last day of our road trip. Time flies…
This morning, we will drive straight to Pescado Island to check out the sunrise. Therefore, we had to wake up at 3.30am.
Today journey in brown on the google map below
The wake up was tough, but worth it as soon as we start to see the first light of the sun….
The sun rises slowly and we start to stress looking at it pointing its nose just behind the mountains.
Once arrived on the island of Pescado, we ran to the top of the island not to miss the sunrise.
Once we get back to the shore of the island, we had a great breakfast….
Our drive finds us then a quiet spot so we can take our pictures.
The salar of Uyuni, located at 3,658m, is the largest salt lake of the world with a total area of 12,500km2. It represents a third of the lithium stock of the world. This large white stretch offers some interesting perspective to take some funny pictures.
We then return to Uyuni (the city) where we take a bus directly to Potosi (4 hours of driving) just after being stopped at the train cimetery.
Uyuni is not worth staying compared to Tupiza. We strongly recommend to start our trip from Tupiza. As well, is good to mention that you will see more of it if you start from Tupiza.
We have therefore completed our 4×4 road trip in the South Bolivia that we really loved and recommend anyone to do it.
